Wings  of  Desire  follows  two  angels  damiel  and  cassiel  who  spend  their  time  observing  and  studying  people  across  berlin,  occasionally  spreading  hope  to  those  in  affliction.  damiel  encounters  an  estranged  trapeze  artist,  marion,  and  soon  falls  in  love  with  her  and  desires  to  live  in  the  material  world  so  that  they  could  be  together.  ultimately  he  relinquishes  his  godlike  form  to  exist  in  the  world  as  a  human  and  pursues  marion.
