Hyral Matete
Hyral is an award-winning young female leader. The international 'backing-local-change‘-initiative YGAP has recognized her mentorship work with children over the years. She is also an alumna of Akili Dada, the international leadership incubator for female leadership in Africa. Hyral currently mentors students at Maseno University as part of her engagement with Akili Dada.
She has founded Angels of Sunset, a kid-teen talent academy, in which she nurtures a positive outlook on life and healthy, reliable values in children from low-income settlements. Hyral strongly believes in children as the makers of tomorrow and is passionate about their talents and particularly their education. She also fights for more inclusionary policies concerning children.
Hryal serves as a board member in KEFEADO, (Kenya female Advisory board) and is also the national coordinator of Little Miss Kenya, a renowned kids beauty pageant in Kenya.
She has structured a learning program, alongside other individuals whose aim is to ensure school-going children in Manyatta slums continue with their learning especially those who can't access the online classes.
